CAN A MUSLIM WOMAN WEARING A HEADSCARF BE ALLOWED TO WORK IN A PUBLIC DAYCARE FACILITY AS A PRESCHOOL TEACHER?

A headscarf ban for educators such as preschool teachers in public daycare centers is unconstitutional according to a decision of the Federal Constitutional Court from 2016.¹ A headscarf ban is only permissible in the exceptional case of a sufficiently concrete threat to the peace in a daycare center.²
